Ferndale, Michigan – Seven representatives from Credit Union ONE participated in the annual Oakland County Chapter of Credit Unions advocacy day in Lansing on May 23rd. The bus trip is a unique experience as credit union representatives meet with state lawmakers for the day. The event featured a lunch in the Speakers Library in the Capitol Building, where several Oakland County Lawmakers and staffers stopped to have lunch and discuss issues of importance to Credit Unions. Topics discussed included data breaches, lienholder notification, payday lending and e-notarization.

“Visiting our lawmakers on their home turf the Capitol Building, and having lunch is a great way to bring to light issues of importance to credit unions and their members”, said Steve Dedene, Vice President of Compliance and Risk for Credit Union ONE. “It is truly a unique experience that fosters relationships between credit unions and lawmakers”. The day long event concluded with a tour of the Senate Floor, and a picture with State Senator Steve Bieda and the Credit Union ONE group.
